Decarbonising agricultural commodities

I co-founded Materra, a regenerative solutions provider paid by global brands to decarbonise and de-risk cotton supply chains.

Key outcomes

10,000+ farmers, 60+ field staff
— deployed programs and tooling for brands representing 3%+ of global cotton.

70+ team across Europe & India
— field operations, agronomy, technology, business, and legal.

Lowest GHG cotton on Higg MSI
— backed by third-party LCAs, delivered at industrial scale.

Contributions

Designed the operating model
— workflows + data standards, and the core product direction.

Led product + technology
— cross-functional execution from discovery to delivery.

Founder scope
— hiring, fundraising, ops, and crisis management.

Transforming how the oldest natural fiber is grown and sourced meant is no small feat. Our approach from the beginning has been to merge Traditional Ecological Knowledge with Technology. TEK + Tech. That’s how magic happens.

Mango has been a partner since the early days, and released full-feature webpage on our collaborations.

COS was the very first brand we spoke too back in 2019. They supported Materra’s R&D efforts early on and in 2025, we released the world’s first hydroponic cotton collection.
