Engineering multi-sensory experiences at architectural scale

I led design-engineering work at Random International, delivering large-scale, multi-sensory interactive installations - spanning public sector projects, private commissions, and museum exhibitions across multiple countries.

Key outcomes

Shipped global installations
— delivered projects from concept through fabrication and on-site installation across locations including London, Detroit, Jeddah, and Shanghai.

Complex experiences made real
— translated creative intent into systems combining mechanical design, materials, sensing, and real-world reliability.

Concurrent delivery under pressure
— ran multiple projects in parallel while coordinating clients, contractors, fabricators, and on-site teams.

Contributions

Hands-on technical leadership
— rapid build–test–iterate cycles across workshop and CAD, including mechanical analysis/FEA.

Designed the core system
— concept translation, prototyping, design-for-manufacture from napkin sketches to production-ready documentation.

Cross-functional and client leadership
— managed stakeholders end-to-end: internal designers/technologists, external contractors, and client-facing delivery.
